The woman at Window 1 was extremely nice and helpful. The young man at Window 1 taking pictures was especially polite. Another customer was upset about something and crying, and the woman and young man at Window 1 consoled her and helped her with her issue. Vallejo DMV has amazing people working there. I've been there about 12 times and always a good, fast experience, with an appointment.
Two whole years in a row, they refuse to send me a paper renewal, resulting in about $70 of late fees. SEVENTY DOLLARS!
I NEVER opted into e-renewal and should not be forced to. In fact, I have an email where I was nagged to opt into e-renewal, but I did not. You are creating an unpleasant situation where I will be pulled over and accosted by the police for not renewing even though your department is absolutely at fault!!! That is a total scam, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Went for real id. Did the online application ahead and uploaded my documents. Brought the code they gave me with my documents and was in and out in less than 30 mins with a computer system reboot. EXCELLENT SERVICE
I went to window number 3, got racist treatment from the staff there. I tried my best to be polite and courteous since I know DMV is a busy place and politeness goes a long way in moving things along, but the moment I went up to window 3, she was obviously intentionally rude to me. I missed out a few blanks on the form, and she pushed the form back to me with such rudeness and said “YOU NEED TO FILL THEM OUT” as if I’ve committed a crime, and when I am not sure about something and asked her a question, she made me feel as if I am annoying her. She is also leaving out essential information and instructions that should be explained to me such as “your new title will be mailed to my address” etc. the whole time her face was long and cold, I was left feeling confused and hurt.
I thought she’s just having a bad day, and didn’t want to bother to leave a review, but to my surprise when I had to returned to the window because I forget something, I saw her with the next customer, her face all animated with joy as if she’s a totally different person, and the moment she saw me coming back to the window her face drew long and austere. Again, during my interaction with her I kept being polite and pleasant, saying thank you to her many times, I can’t think of any other reason that she had to behaved so rude to me than the fact that I am an Asian woman and somehow that makes me her enemy.
All the other staffs I encountered there were very kind and helpful though.
This DMV is efficient if you have an appointment! Bring cash because they charge a small fee if you use your card! Most staff not all are nice. I was in and out in about 30 minutes for a driver’s license renewal! An overall good DMV experience!
Examiner was a lemon who failed me for a bogus reason. Did everything right, no marks at all.. but the man decided to fail me. Honestly, fix the examiners. Get rid of the lemons, get actual experienced unbiased examiners instead.
And to the examiner that failed me: start updating your resume and start searching for jobs. Maybe you'll find a job that can tolerate your lazy demeanor somewhere else in Vallejo. And don't expect bribes, for God's sake. Oh, don't catcall people either. You're sleazy for that. Disgusting.
When I wanted to change the license plates, they charged me a lot of money, then it took many days to give me the plates, they returned to make the estimate and it turns out that they have to return the money to me, which I am still waiting for and nothing. I receive it. I would like to know how long it takes to make the refund, thanks.
Beware, this DMV encourages speeding to pass driving tests. If you are a safe, cautious driver, you will not pass here. The driving tester was rude and seemed to be looking to fail others before entering the vehicle. The test was less than 5 minutes and failed due to going a little slower under the speed limit. However, just a few days later passed Vacaville DMV with very good score.
